My kids and I were sooo excited to see this latest installation of the Pirates story.

A couple of things to take note of:  This movie is much darker than the others, Johnny Depp is smoldering hot, and only a few of the original movie cast made it to the fourth film.

There was a tremendous build up for this movie and I confess I walked away a bit less excited as I was walking into the theatre.

Captain Jack is on the lookout for a ship that will take him to the hitherto aforementioned (in POTC#3) Fountain of Youth.  The British monarchy wants the FoY first, the Spanish wants it first, Angelica (Penelope Cruz) wants it for Blackbeard, Barbossa wants luxury and revenge, and everyone is on everybody else’s side as the double crossing begins!

As usual, we don’t really know what is going on in Captain Jack Sparrow’s mind as he presumably makes things up as he goes along, when in fact, he’s very much focused on one goal-which you’ll have to guess!

I liked this movie, Johnny is delicious as usual, the music astoundingly great, and Penelope a wonderful addition.

What I missed:  Our favorite lackeys-Pintel and Ragetti along with the ragtag crew.

What I liked:  Jack and Angelica’s love/hate relationship

What I wanted more of: Blackbeard-he was great!

I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.  Worth the trip to the movies!
